October Recap: New CAB Rosters and the Road to Stacks 4.1
Hey Stackers, October was a month of transition for Stacks governance. The Economic, Governance, and Technical CABs are now fully seated, with new members including the first from a partner organization, and they’re preparing for their first review under the refreshed structure: the Stacks 4.1 SIP.
Updated CAB Rosters
The Economic, Governance, and Technical CABs are fully seated after the self-nomination process that opened in September. Each CAB voted on its incoming members. The new rosters pair longstanding members with people newer to Stacks and include the first CAB member from a partner organization: Guillaume Girard of UTXO Management.

Economic CAB: Xan Ditkoff (Daemon Technologies) takes over as chair, and Hadan Esperidiao (ALEX Lab Foundation) continues. New members are Sam Lee (Stacks Labs), Andrea Ballesteros (Stacks Endowment), Shakti Pradhan (Stacks Foundation), and Mark Kilaghbian (Dataing).

Governance CAB: Zero (Zero Authority DAO) takes over as chair, and PeaceLoveMusic.btc continues. New members are Xenitron (Skullcoin Studio), GP (StackingDAO and Zest Protocol), Eric McHugh (Dataing), Guillaume Girard (UTXO Management), and Prince Troy.

Technical CAB: Jesse Wiley continues as chair. Aaron Blankstein and Brice Dobry (Stacks Labs), Friedger Müffke, j2p2, and Setzeus (StrataLabs) also continue. Rapha (Juice signer and JingSwap) joins as a new member.

Thank you to the members stepping down. From the Economic CAB: MattySTX, chair since 2022, Leeor Shimron, and Pieter Aerts. From the Governance CAB: whoabuddy, the outgoing chair, Harold, Juliet Oberding, and Orlando Cosme. From the Technical CAB: Radu.

Full bios and details are available here. CAB members now confirm their seats through the SIP Tracker, which added email and passkey login this month.

Stacks 4.1
The Stacks 4.1 SIP will open for community review shortly. It focuses on performance, networking, and peer-to-peer improvements, along with consensus changes and new Clarity features. It will be the first SIP reviewed by the new CABs under the refreshed structure. A full explainer will be published alongside the SIP.
Arkadiko Governance Exploit
On October 22, an attacker exploited Arkadiko’s governance process by passing a proposal that gave a malicious contract minting rights. The Stacks network and STX were not affected. Arkadiko led the response and recovery; their complete post-mortem is here.
Coin Center Annual Dinner
On October 6, Claire represented the Foundation at Coin Center’s annual dinner in New York with Andre Serrano and Grant Nissly from Stacks Labs. Antonie Hodge, longtime Stacks Foundation Board member, is Director of Operations at Coin Center. Peter Van Valkenburgh, Executive Director of Coin Center, gave an inspiring speech that is worth watching!
